518 Area Code Scam - Social Security Administration Calls

Do not call 518-735-3636 or if it shows up on your caller ID do not pick up the phone. The telephone is just one of the many 518 area code telephone numbers being used by cybercriminals in SSA scams.

People who receive phone calls of any kind asking for Social Security numbers should be wary of these types of scams and hang up immediately.

In this SSA phone scam, the callers claim they are from law enforcement or Social Security and then scare their potential victims into thinking that their Social Security number has been compromised.
