Support Telephone Number Scam Messages - 888-527-9270

It seems scammers are sending fake invoices or fraud alerts containing a spoofed and fraudulent helpline or support telephone number to trick you into calling them.

About "Support Number" Scams

  • Never call numbers from pop-ups: Fake alerts that lock your browser and display a "support number" are malicious phishers.
  • Avoid numbers in emails/texts: Scammers send fake invoices or fraud alerts containing fraudulent helplines to steal data.
  • Spoofed Caller ID: Scammers can fake their number to make it look exactly like Apple's official helpline on your caller ID.

Critical Security Rules

  • Apple will never ask for your Apple ID password, iCloud credentials, or two-factor authentication (2FA) verification codes over the phone.
  • Apple does not make unsolicited calls to warn you about account security breaches or tell you to move money.
  • Never grant remote access to your device to anyone claiming to be from tech support.

How to Report Scam Activity

  • Phishing Emails & Texts: Forward the message or a screenshot directly to Apple's official monitoring team at reportphishing@apple.com.
  • Fraudulent Purchases: Do not click links in suspicious receipts. Log in securely to the official Apple portal to view your genuine purchase history.
