My HRMIS & JPA Demo

Kaspersky has reported this threat to Google Play and the spyware application has since been removed.

The same author that created the "My HRMIS" & JPA Demo" spyware has two other applications in Google Play. The names of these applications are "Mari Baca SMS" and "Abang Kat Mana"

If you have any of these applications installed on your phone, I recommend that you remove them.

FYI, MyHRMIS and JPA are actually services pertaining to the Malaysian Human Resources Info System and the Civil Service Dept. The legit HRMIS and JPA app was developed by the Malaysian Government to assist in the application of jobs, and it required the user to input their particulars such as name, ID etc. There is no demo, as the app is free both on Android and WAP platforms. It sends SMSes about job opening in sectors.

But this fake app was made to phish and to bombard users with unwanted chain SMSes with high cost per message like RM3.00 per message, and most of them are quizzes and Indonesian 3gp porn.
