Mediafire.com Malicious Links Lead To Trojan Horse, Spyware and Virus

Cybercriminals are posting links to malicious programs like Trojan horses, spywares and viruses, which are stored on the cloud storage service website mediafire.com. Mediafire.com is a legitimate online cloud storage service that allows you to store and share your files on the internet. But, scammers and hackers have taken advantage of this service, by uploading malicious programs and sending links to these malicious programs to thousands of persons, in email messages, on social networking websites like Facebook and Twitters, in text messages(SMS), or in Instant Messengers like Skype, Yahoo, MSN and AIM.

You may receive a malicious link similar to the following:

Links like these may infect your computer with a virus, Trojan horse or other malicious programs, if you click on them.

Mediafire is actively suspending the accounts of persons who have uploaded these malicious programs. The owner of the Mediafire account that uploaded a virus at the malicious link above, had his/her account suspended.

Although, Mediafire is working hard to terminate accounts of cybercriminals, be careful when clicking on these Mediafire links. If you receive a Mediafire link from someone, please contact the person to confirm if he/she had sent the link to you, before clicking on it.
