Few days ago I have received a msg like this, I followed the link they gave me and it led me to lg website, thingking that its legit I followed the instructions given. Then I received a reply in my email that since im not from the UK they will appeal in my behalf. And they ask me to send a copy of any GOV I.D and utility bill. So I send them, then they replied they need 524 pounds for the uk national lottery comission. This is when I realize that this is a scam. My question is I have sent some document, am I safe? If I stop replying to them will I be safe?

The scammers will continue to contact and attempt to scam you, so just be careful going forward. And, since you have sent your I.D, we recommend reporting it to the police.

Can't I do say or do anything to stop them from contacting me? I've already marked all their mails as spam, will it help? Whats the worse they can do aside from bugging me?

Yes, marking the emails as spam will help. And, they cannot do anything to you unless you follow their instructions.

I've received the same message on Sep 25, 2015. when I filled the form on www.LGpromos.com I received the following e-mail:

    "LG Electronics (UK)Ltd

    LG House

    250-252 Bath Road

    Slough, west Berkshire SL14DX,

    United Kingdom.

    Dear ********,

Compliments of the day to you, I am very delighted to be contacting you as one of the winners of this year's annual promotion organized by LG™ Electronics. You are indeed a very lucky person.

My duty is to guide you through every process with regards to your prize claims to ensure you receive your winnings within the shortest possible time.

I have however observed from your application form that you are not from the United Kingdom. This year's iPrize was however targeted for United Kingdom only. That not withstanding you can still proceed to claims under special appeal.

We will need to file a special appeal to the UK Gaming council to create an exemption in your case under the hospices of fair-play. Once granted your prize will be approved and we at LG Electronics will immediately proceed to payment of your 850,000 Pounds (Eight Hundred and Fifty Thousand Great British Pounds) as mandated.

    ...

Again I say congratulations as I look forward to receiving the above stated document from you so I can immediately envelope them to the National lottery commission. You can call me on 44 703-198-1965 If you need any assistance.

    Regards,

    Ben Hammond (Client Executive)

If the form asked for your password, change it now. If it asked for your financial information, please contact your bank, otherwise, be careful next time because they will attempt to use the information you have sent to trick you into sending money or more information.

Probably you were tricked into submitting it on a phishing website or your computer got infected with malware, which sent your information to the cyber-criminals.
