I got it for a second time. One for angry birds and one for farm heroes...

Just cut and pasted the do not reply email address to google and ended up here! I guessed it was a phishing scam so did change my paypal password. All seems ok.

If anyone reads this... a little tip I can offer...

I took out a credit card with a 300 pound limit on it. I use it purely for internet purchases. I purposely set the limit at this so if it is stolen/phished the loss is not massive. I then get the statement through the post and pay it off each month. Bit of a pain but I feel happier knowing nobody cause me a huge pain in the backside! Lol!

    Hope my tip helps :)

Hi, I got the exact same email as you. I was a little confused first when I received the mail and PayPal didn't look quite right nor did the email. Luckily I did not click on the link. I did suspect this was some scam, just googled the whole thing and found this page. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experience. There really are some sad lying thieves out there - shame on those people who try to scam innocent people out of their hard earned money. Just disgusts me to the core.

I had this today and immediately accused my little ones before I spotted the dodgy link! Mine was $49.99 Farm Heroes Saga.Unfortunately I think people may get duped by this one.

  • August 11, 2015 at 10:22 AM by an anonymous user from: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

My husband received this email today: "£49.99 allegedly spent via paypal for Farm Heroes saga". A quick Google brought me to this page confirming our suspicions. Quite a convincing email though!

    • August 11, 2015 at 12:14 PM by an anonymous user from: Ilford, England, United Kingdom

I've just gotten the same email, hence why I'm here. Grrr!

    • August 11, 2015 at 11:40 AM by an anonymous user from: Leeds, England, United Kingdom

Same here! I am glad I didn't click the link!

  • August 11, 2015 at 8:14 AM by an anonymous user from: Stokenchurch, England, United Kingdom

I received such an email today and immediately rung PayPal. The nice lady I spoke with asked me if my name was mention on the email receipt. I said no it was not. She said all paypals email has the user name printed on it.

It's a scam, luckily I did not logged on to the link.

  • August 11, 2015 at 8:08 AM by an anonymous user from: London, England, United Kingdom

I got 3 identical emails about this yesterday. I quickly established it was a scam and have reported them to spoof@paypal.co.uk I have also blocked the email address.

  • August 11, 2015 at 7:34 AM by an anonymous user from: Northampton, England, United Kingdom

I have also just received this scam email. Quite crafty as I do play saga farm heroes but I would never pay £49.99 to play it!

  • August 11, 2015 at 6:55 AM by an anonymous user from: London, England, United Kingdom

Receieved this email today to an email account I dont have linked to Paypal for 49.99 to farm heroes saga.

    • August 11, 2015 at 10:08 AM by an anonymous user from: Newark, England, United Kingdom

Me too - exactly the same amount. I don't have PayPal either.

  • August 11, 2015 at 5:11 AM by an anonymous user from: London, England, United Kingdom

This one still current; received on 11/08/2015, easy for me to spot/ignore as I don't have a paypal account, but can see people might be fooled by it, not the usual pigeon English.

My tip is to always Google anything you're unsure of ("scam Paypal farm heroes" in this case) although if your reading this you've probably got that.

    • August 11, 2015 at 10:05 AM by an anonymous user from: Newark, England, United Kingdom

I deleted the one in my junk mail this morning and just this minute had another one in my inbox! Thanks for alerting - quite sad that the internet has come to this.
