Be aware of calls and SMS text messages from telephone numbers that start with 1(411)200 and then a 3 digit number after. Recipients who receive calls or SMS claiming that they have been selected to receive a donation, have won a lottery, a refund applied to their accounts that require verification, to click on a link to secure their Facebook accounts, or they need to do some other action that requires them to send money or information, should not respond to the messages and should terminate the calls.

This is because the same telephone numbers that start with 1-411-200 are being used by scammers to trick potential victims into visiting phishing websites that steal account credentials, personal information, financial information or trick potential victims into sending them their hard earned money.

The same numbers are also being used to trick potential victims into visiting malicious websites that will trick visitors into installing malicious apps.
