They had control of my computer screen and said I had 30 foreign people that have broken into my firewall and showed this on my screen. They wanted to have a tech spend an hour on my computer to clean and install a new firewall. The number wasn't the one on my card I bought, so flags went up. I called the number on the card I bought. This was the real number and told me the other number was a scam. Not knowing what info that may have been taken, I cancelled my online Credit cards information. Had I let the scammers into my computer for an hour, they would have stolen my identity. The scammers are pretending to be Webroot, Microsoft, AOL, Facebook, and McAfee technical support representatives. Check the comment section below for answers or additional information.
