2052872786 ATT Unsuccessful Payment Scam

I got the same text at 3:58 AM this morning. I don't know where to report it to AT&T. Thanks for exposing it as a scam.

I received this text message on August 16, 2020 at 7:56am Central Daylight Time. I did not call the number, but instead called AT&T. My account had been paid and I learned this was a scam.

I got it at 5:43 am, one AT&T line and another on an MVNO AT&T operated line. Did not call back knowing both accounts had already been paid this month.

Seems like someone is phishing all the AT&T cell numbers in our area of AL, hoping for a bite.

Received the same txt, checked my account, changed some security
Questions and reported it! People are crazy

I got a text at 7:34am on 8/16/20 telling me my AT&T payment was unsuccessful. I had recently changed to a different card for automatic payments so for a moment I thought I entered something wrong. When I saw the number they told me to call, which had a 205 area code, I knew it was a scam. That's one of the area codes here in Alabama.

Received two SCAM texts on my cellphone stating the text was from AT&T stating I had made an unsuccessful payment. The text asked me to call 2052870227. The text ended with "MSG 6580".
THANKFULLY I googled the phone number and learned that the phone number was a SCAM. Safe, and not sorry worked for me.

Concerned because all lines on our family plan received the same message today. Has ATT been hacked or did everyone in Alabama get the same message at the same time?

I upgraded my cell phone through ATT on August 14, 2020, and got this text message of payment failure this morning, August 16. My reaction is that they got the info through ATT or the company that was set up in the Sams store to sell cell phones. It certainly needs to be investigated.

I got this AT&T message yesterday and ignored it. Don't even have an AT&T account.

SCAM for money! Called here at 8:00

Got text at 8:04am telling me my AT&T payment failed, and to call 205-287-2786. By the other posters looks like South Alabama is being targeted by these criminals today. Deleted text and will try to contact AT&T tomorrow. Looks like if the criminals/scammers are using AT&T text services, they could block these turds.

Got a text at 6am today stating ATT payment unsuccessful. Wants me to call 205-287-2786. I knew it was a scam from this phone number they want you to call. Not calling.

I got the message about 12:00 a.m. but I don't use a debit card or credit card. I use at&t phone cards

I got a text at 1:30 a.m. telling me that my AT&T payment failed and to call 205-287-2786. When I called that number, the recording said my debit card had been cancelled. I hung up at that point.

We just received it also. Didn’t call them back though.

I got the text at 4:01 a.m. and I didn't call. I did check my bill balance through AT&T's built in phone contact and my bill was paid.

I received the text at 7:52 a.m. and did not call back. I don't have a balance at this time so I suspected that it was a scam.
