The First Financial text alert below, which asks recipients to call 820-200-2820, is a scam. The text is being sent by scammers who are attempting to trick their potential victims into calling them at the fake First Financial telephone number(8202002820) listed in the text message.

The First Financial Bank Text Scam

FRM:FIRST FINANCIAL .BANK-ALERTS

SUBJ:CALL: 8202002820 Immediately

MSG:Ticket ID:essi Card.Transaction-Alerts!

If potential victims contact the scammers at the fake First Financial Bank telephone number(820-200-2820), the scammers will attempt to trick them into giving them their account credentials, personal and financial information. Once the scammers receive the their potential victims' information, they will use it fraudulently.

How did the scammers get my phone# and know I had an account at First Financial? Was the bank hacked?

They don't know, they are phishing, my coworker who does not have an account with 1st financial also received one of these texts.
