This is because the fake text message is a scam being sent by scammers to trick potential victims into clicking on the link in it. The link goes to a phishing website that steals account credentials, personal and financial information. If you were tricked by the scam, please contact Verizon for help. And, if you submitted financial information on the phishing website that you were taken to, please contact your bank for help.
