Online Threat Alerts (OTA) - Alerting you to scams and frauds.
Scammers are sending the YouHaveAnItem package scam text messages below to potential victims from 346-588-6958 with a link to the phishing website youhaveanitem.com. The scam text messages claim the recipients have a package awaiting confirmation and cannot be delivered unless the outstanding tax balance is paid. Recipients are then asked to click a link to the phishing website(you have an item.com), which will take them to a phishing or fake USPS website that will ask them to make payment.
If the requested payment information is submitted on the phishing website, it will be sent to the scammers, who will use it fraudulently. Therefore, if you have been tricked into submitting your financial information by the same scam, please contact your bank for help.
The scam text messages are also been sent from 347-437-1689.
If you have received a Youhaveanitem scam text message, please do not follow the instructions in it. Post it along with the telephone number it came from in a comment below to help inform others, then delete it.

Received Dyson Vacuum scam text message from phone # 1-(786)-761-3598. Do not send money. They try to get you to pay $1.12 for shipping tax. DON’T! IT’S A SCAM!

Received the same scam message on my cell phone from the same phone number.Since I was actually expecting a package from Amazon, I almost clicked on it but something seemed fishy. Luckily I did not.
I received one just now from 346-588-6958 that says "home depot wanted you to participate in our March 2022 poll. Anyone who enters this by 3/27/22 will claim a complimentary $100.00 reward".
Received the same BS text msg re: the Dyson. Why can't the government shut down these jerk's webpage(s).

received this scam text yesterday from 347-437-1689,states they cannot deliver my dyson vacuum due to outstanding tax amount due. I had not ordered a vacuum.

I received this text today. Recognized it as a scam and reported as spam as that was the choice provided by carrier. It was automaitically deleted upon reporting it. Does anyone have an idea of where they are getting cell phone numbers. Is it from hacking websites where this information may have been voluntarily provided? is there anyway to tell where the number was obtained? Has anyone called the number indicated as being that from which the text originated?
