The fake messages claim recipients have a declined transaction made at a popular store and ask them to call a fake Bank of America telephone number like 1-800-221-9093. The fake number is associated with call centers operated by scammers who will attempt to trick their potential victims into disclosing their banking and other sensitive information, which will be used fraudulently. A Scam Voicemail Asking to Call 800-221-9093"Bank of America a purchase was declined for $319.55 at target.com. Press one if you recognize this purchase, if you do not recognize this purchase call our fraud department immediately at ***DO NOT CALL 18002219093. If you have received a message about a declined transaction, please contact your bank using the telephone at the back of your card or go to your bank's website and contact them directly.
