The "Walmart PlayStation 5" call below, which claims a pre-authorized purchase of a PS5 with a special edition Impulse 3D headset has been ordered on the recipients' accounts, is a scam. The scammers are attempting to lure the recipients into calling the phone number back to dispute the charge; at this point, the scammer will request personal and financial information. They may also request remote access to the recipient’s device, claiming they need the access to cancel the order or process a refund. If given access, the scammer can install malware, steal data, or use the access to extort the victim into paying a ransom demand. In some schemes, the scammer will instruct the individual to purchase gift cards as part of the refund process.

You receive a robocall or voicemail stating a $919.45 purchase (or similar) for a PlayStation 5 and a Pulse 3D headset was made on your Walmart account.They ask you to "press 1" or call a number back to cancel or dispute the order.Once you connect, they ask for credit card numbers, passwords, or ask you to install software to "fix" the problem.
A rampant Walmart PlayStation scam uses AI-powered voice calls or voicemails claiming you ordered a PS5 for $\approx$$900–$1,500. The scammers pressure victims to call back to "cancel" the fake order, aiming to steal personal information, bank details, or remote access to devices. Hang up immediately; verify orders only via the official app or website.
