If you received a message that appears to be from "EB JV Jared LLC", claiming your PayPal account processed a payout by a small deposit(1 JPY Japanese), DO NOT call the fraudulent PayPal customer service number 888-912-2470 in it. The message is a scam, and the telephone is not associated with PayPal. The number is linked to a call center operated by scammers pretending to be from PayPal.
Pre-fund confirmation: USD 987.90 is pending deposit to Coinbase via PayPal. This small deposit is just used for the account activation check. For questions, Call for help 888-912-2470
Even if the message has your full name and appears to have been sent from a legitimate PayPal email address, do not call the telephone number. The clever part of this scam is that the scammer sent an actual transaction of 1 cent from PayPal to make the scam look legit. If you go to your PayPal account, you will see the transaction. But the trick is to convince you into calling the bogus customer service telephone number (800) 385-xxxx.
If you were tricked into calling the fake number and giving the scammers your account credentials or banking information, please change your account passwords or contact your bank for help.

I recieved the same email on 4/23/2026. I will ignore it. Thanks for the info and for sharing your experiences.
got the same last night. I did not respond to the link on the email, but went directly to Paypal to report it this morning (April, 24). I tried to close my Paypal account (rarely use it anymore), but the small amount of the transfer into my account >$.01 was too small to transfer. I had an online chat with a security rep & was told that this was a recurrent phishing fraud & just to ignore it. I've blocked the 559-754-9420 number--it appears to be in a pool of unassigned numbers.
I received the exact same message in my PayPal account today. Fortunately, I didn’t believe it and started searching for more info online and found this alert. Thank you for providing this alert.
