Independent investigations and a wave of online consumer complaints have exposed how his modern e-commerce network operates:

• "Dark Pattern" Subscriptions: Lievano has been heavily called out for using illegal "dark patterns" to trick buyers. Customers making a one-time purchase (such as Bibles or other goods) were secretly trapped into recurring monthly subscriptions that were hidden in the fine print and incredibly difficult to cancel.
• Non-Delivery & Excuses: When confronted by consumer advocacy and internet researchers, Lievano blamed his business partners and claimed he was shipping the items.
