• Misleading Group Rankings: The competition splits babies into thousands of tiny sub-groups. This makes parents think their child is a frontrunner (e.g., "7th in their group"), encouraging them to keep hustling or paying for votes, when in reality they are competing against tens of thousands of other babies nationally.
• Data and Privacy Concerns: By entering, you sign away extensive rights to your baby’s photos. While the official company states they do not sell your photos, you are still hosting your child's image on a highly visible, public voting platform.

Because the official contest is so popular, actual scammers target parents by mimicking it. Be on the lookout for:

• Fake Voting Services: Fraudulent accounts on Instagram or Facebook might DM you promising to "sell you bundles of votes" to make your baby win. Colossal does not work with third-party voting services.
• Phishing Sites: Cybercriminals set up copycat websites to steal your credit card data or harvest your child’s photos. Always ensure you are on the verified Official Baby of the Year Website.
