Linkt Toll Scams - How to Protect Yourself

If you receive one of these messages, do not click any links. Clicking the link takes you to a fake payment dashboard that looks identical to the real Linkt website but is entirely designed to steal your login credentials and credit card information.

Common Warning Signs of a Linkt Scam

• Urgent or Threatening Language: The message will insist you pay immediately to avoid steep fines, penalties, or legal consequences.
• Suspicious Links: The URL provided will look slightly off or completely unrelated to linkt.com.au (e.g., mismatched characters or strange extensions).
• Demand for Card Info via Link: It will push you straight to a "Pay Now" button or a page asking for your full card details, CVC, and subsequent SMS verification codes.

How to Safely Check if Your Toll is Real

1. Ignore the Message: Never use the phone numbers, replies, or links contained inside a suspicious text or email.
2. Log In Securely: Open your official Linkt app on your phone or navigate directly to the verified Linkt Website.
3. Search Your Plate: Use their official search tool to look for genuine outstanding toll invoices using your licence plate number.

• If you did NOT click or provide info: Take a screenshot of the message. You can upload it and report the scammer's mobile number directly on the Linkt Scam Reporting Page. You can also lodge a report via the Federal Government's Scamwatch
• If you entered your banking details:Contact your financial institution immediately. Ask them to freeze your accounts or cancel your compromised credit card to protect your money.
