The email message below with the subject: "Account SSL Security Update Is Required Urgently," is a Kiwibank Limited phishing scam. The email message was not sent by Kiwibank Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the state-owned enterprise New Zealand Post Limited. The message was instead sent by cyber-criminals to trick potential victims into clicking on the link within the email message, which will take them to a phishing / fake Kiwibank website. The phishing website looks exactly like the Kiwibank’s website, which will trick a lot of Kiwibank’s customers, who have received the fake email message, into entering their usernames and passwords on it. Once the victims have entered their Kiwibank’s online account credentials (usernames and passwords) on the fake website, it will be sent to the cyber-criminals, who will use it to gain access their accounts, and use the accounts fraudulently.
