If potential victims call the number they will be greeted by scammers pretending to be customer or technical support representatives from one of the popular Internet companies. The scammers will then attempt to trick the callers into giving them their online account credentials, personal and financial information.
If the scammers receive the requested information, they will use it to gain access to their potential victims' online accounts, hijack them and use them fraudulently. The scammers will also use their potential victims' credit card information fraudulently and will sell their potential victims' personal information to other scammers who will attempt to the scam the same victims.
The scammers may also call their potential victims from 800-445-2810, therefore, recipients of telephone calls from the same number are asked not to answer or disclose any sensitive information to the callers.
