Online Threat Alerts (OTA) - Alerting you to scams and frauds.
The scammers called several days in a row to report suspicious activity on my Visa or Mastercard. They wanted the first 4 digits of my credit card number, which I gave them. Then they wanted my full debit card number to enable them to block future false charges to my MC (right, this sounds likely!). I gave them a false 16-digit number, incorrect expiry date, false 3-digit code on back. Then I got forwarded to the supervisor who has the authorization to secure my account.
I had visions of him typing busily to sign onto my account, and he was probably going to help me change my password to make the account more secure. But we didn't get that far, because he must have figured out I gave him a bad card number, about the time I asked, "If my Visa is the problem, why are you so interested in my debit card?" He hung up.

How to stop the spam from 647
These guys got me. they accessed everything. I gave them my debit and cc number. My bank called me, I cancelled my cards immediately, got a new one, and they got access to my new card via logging in from my pc. I have spent the last 48 hours changing everything. Please beware
I suggest that you get rid of the computer and any other electronics that you have because you may have a ghost on them from the scammers. That is a keystroke monitor program that is undetectable and is probably on your systems and it allows for them to get everything you do….change everything….they get the new stuff! They will wipe out everything and then wait a while and do it all over again… only solution is to destroy the entire system of equipment. Your homeowners insurance may or may not cover the cost of the damage if you have filed a police report and I believe in some companies that cover you for identity theft and bank theft in this manner might be worth looking into and asking them Good Luck
Recently started receiving texts and calls from several different 647 area code numbers, here in WA state. They seem to all be addressed to "GOVII" and are attempts at getting me to click a link or call them back for an important message about my insurance.Joke's on you, mfers, I'm in the USA, I don't have insurance.
I didn't picked the call as there was a text message regarding a delivery couldn't send cause of wrong address, idirected me to call them but I never called them but blocked the number.
Received this:"16477705752Joe just sent 1000.00 in your C A S H App-WaIlet. Please take ACTI0N here- oyobebi.com/1xgIJOh5YG"
I get text and calls all the time .. mainly texts now since I play with them. Unfortunately they steal numbers and put them on as their number showing but are probably calling from the US or over seas. They assume you will answer with a local number.

I went to the rcmp here to c if there is any warrants out for me. NOT. As soon as the rcmp talked on the phone to them they dissolved the phone. Thanks Lesson learned I’d guess hope that karma is a birch
I usually tell them to come get me
1647 317 1728 scam call from 'TD Fraud'
They called me quite a few times. The last time I told them that if there was a problem with my credit card, I’d call my credit card company to check with them. They haven’t called lately.
About once a week I get a call from 1 647 944 2513 and a recorded voice tells me about two charges on my VISA card from Amazon and another web site that are suspicious. My VISA card may be compromised. I suppose tyhe next step would be for me to give them all the card information and passwords so they can reverse the transactions.Really nice of them to let me know..... Considering that I have not had a VISA card since about 1990.Why is it always my VISA that is compromised and none of my other 10 credit cards?
I received a call from a 647 number and it said "my credit card" but did not specify which bank- hence I suspected it was a fraud. My card was recently used fraudulently so I did want to double check... the fact that someone else had a fraud is reassuring to me. The story - the first 4 digits define the institution ( eg Royal Bank.. )- never ever would a legitimate call need to ask the first four numbers. Thank you
'New twist on the scam game....I got a call last night from area code 647 It said: Darrell Matthew 647-539-7944 and he left a message."Hi my name is Darrell. I ordered some (mumble mumble) from you and I didn't receive it. You should call me back at this number." =BLOCKED'Received via email.
"Fake Visa call. Called to report a use of my Visa card and asked me to confirm my number. Very aggressive and swore at me when I requested more information"Received via email.
Message on answering device asked me to call this number to address unusual charge to Visa card. Original call was from 1-647-794-2980. Did not call as request was way too suspicious and weird. Probably a scam.
