9312863084 ATT Unsuccessful Payment Scam

Do not call 931-286-3084. This is because the fake "AT&T Unsuccessful Payment" text message below, which asks recipients to call telephone number 931-286-3084, is a scam. The scam, which claims the recipients' payment was unsuccessful or is on hold, is being sent by scammers who are attempting to steal their potential victims' personal and financial information by asking them to call fake AT&T telephone number 931 286 3084.

I reported this scam text to AT&T, as well.

Here is the text information:

FRM AT&T
SUBJ:Unsuccessful payment .Call 9312863084
MSG 4088

I called the number and an automated voice said, "Thank you for calling ATT's 24 hour line. We regret to inform you that your Debit card is locked. To reactivate it, Press 1, To leave, Press 2.

I hung up. I don't have a Debit card. I pay my bill with a Bank Draft every month.

AT&T scam...number 4696779995...do NOT push 1..to unlock..it is a scam....

Received this text. Anybody who falls for this should have been more attentive.

For me, it was a no-brainer. Any claim that I made an unsuccessful payment is subject to the fact that I have not attempted to pay AT&T anything what-so-freaking-ever.

But I suppose there must be some who fall for it. Even a 0.001% success rate is a good return on the investment.
