Ok got the text at 12:53 this morning. Used my house phone to call it back. When it asked for my credit card number I hung up. Will I have any further problems with them because I dialed them back?

I just received a similar message. I have autopay with AT&T and my cell phone is automatically paid each month via my credit card. I'm notified by AT&T when charges are coming due ahead of time, and bill will automatically pay on a certain day. Today I received the same message that my payment was unsuccessful. I doubled checked with my credit card company and there's more than enough credit available to pay the charged. That's when I noticed too the color coded messages I normally get from AT&T were different from this message. And the phone number didn't add up either. AT&T numbers are normally 1-800 this one was an area code 931. When I checked 931 is out of Columbia TN.
I'm glad I double, triple and quadrupled checked before calling this number.
I'm passing this info on to others, be they have services with AT&T or some other cell phone service.

They’re going hard today because I just got a text with this exact message a short while ago. I immediately forwarded it to AT&T to report it. Any time I get a suspicious text, email, phone call, I research before doing anything.

My husband received an identical message. Then I also received same message. I did become concerned but my inner instinct told me it wasn’t even time for my payment. I am thankful that I researched this phone number. Thanks for confirming my suspicions!

I got a text messgage from this number -- I figured it was a scam, as I get notifications when my payment goes through, and I also check my bank statement.

I have two at&t cellphones... one is contract the other is by the month... and I work for a major carrier, and this is not the way that they operate... if someone isn't sure about their service, call 611... and step through the prompts

Got a text message from a 410 number stating to call 9312863067 about AT&T payment. This is bogus. Do not call that number
