The DMV scam text message below, which claims the recipient's driver's license will get blocked, is being sent by online scammers. The fake text message, which came from telephone number 833-938-1163, has a link in it that goes to a phishing website that steals personal information. Therefore, recipients are asked not to follow the instruction in it.

The link in the text goes to a fake New York State called NY My DMV located at hxxps://nydmvid.net/
If visitors to the fake New York State submit their porsonal information, it will sent to the online scammers who are operating the fake website. Once they have received the stolen information, they will use it fraudulenlty. Therefore, if you have been tricked by this scam, please report to the police and post the text you have received in a comment below. Include the telephone number the text came from.

Report it to your service provider, block the number, and delete the text.
I got it from 833 741 0173. Said have to update contact info. I deleted it
