How Avoid Becoming Victim to Scam

• Scams often look legitimate, however, legitimate companies don't use urgent unsolicited communications or pressure tactics asking for personal information.
• Fraudulent e-mails, texts and calls ultimately seek sensitive personal and account information such as online log-in credentials, social security numbers, account numbers, passwords or password prompts.
• Communications may also include links or attachments that install computer/mobile device viruses and/or keystroke loggers and should not be clicked on or opened
• Creating fear or a sense of urgency is a common tactic for many scams.
• Contact the company named in the email or text before you provide any information. Do not reply to or engage with the sender in any way. It's critical to ensure you're communicating with a credible source. For example, call the number on the back of your credit card to confirm the legitimacy of any email, text or call you receive referencing that card.
