Scamming - Fraud
The telephone number 0300 790 9901 is being used by scammers who are impersonating HMRC. The scammers claim the recipients need to pay outstanding taxes and threaten legal action or arrest if the recipients do not call back. HMRC is aware of an automated phone call scam which will tell you HMRC is filing a lawsuit against you, and to press one to speak to a caseworker to make a payment. This scam has been widely reported and often targets elderly and vulnerable people. If you have received scam calls from 03007909901, please share your experience in the comment section below.
Other scam calls may offer a tax refund and request you to provide your bank or credit card information. If you cannot verify the identity of the caller, do not speak to them.

I received a text message today from HMCTS GOVUK stating I have an outstanding court fine... lol never been to court EVER! the text advises me to click on the number 0300 790 9901 to make payment... might call them just to wind them up for an hour... pretend I am an old lady and going to pay in full...

Just had a court letter saying I owe 190 pound for selling cocaine haha address and my birthday is correct aswell
Had a letter addressed to a person unknown to us asking for £725.00 for unpaid fines.Called the 0300 number which had a recorded message.
letter from West Yorkshire Collection and Enforcement Centre saying I owed £811. Didnt say why. Had a legit address too.
As above. Said I had a criminal court fine to pay. Got a text and looked very believable.
