Scammers are making robocalls to potential victims from telephone number 03 9005 7533(0390057533) and pretending to be from the ATO. The scammers' aim is to trick potential victims into sending them money or personal information. But, remember, the ATO will never threaten you with immediate arrest, will never send unsolicited pre-recorded messages to your phone, will never request payment of a debt via iTunes, Google Play cards, cryptocurrencies, or other vouchers.

ATO will sometimes use phone, email and SMS to get in touch with you. But, if you're ever unsure whether an ATO interaction is genuine, do not reply. You should phone them at 1800 008 540 to check if it is really from them.
