The "Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro" text below, which claims the recipient has purchased the smartphone for US$285 and it will be shipped, is a scam. The aim of the scam text is to frighten potential victims into contacting the scammers behind it. If contacted, the scammers will attempt to trick their potential victims into giving them their personal and credit card information, which they will use fraudulently.
Thank you for purchasing a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro for $ 284.00 USD. Your order will be shipped on Monday, April 5, 2021 to Zimbabwe. If you did not order, you can a request a cancellation

I got a similar text but "my order" is being shipped to Burundi! I reported the scam to the Federal Trade Commission.
Just got the same email with a cancel by April 20
Here's the text I just got:"Thank you for shopping with us. You ordered XiaomI RedmI Note 9 Pro for $298.00 USD. We send confirmation that your order will be shipped on Monday, Wednesday, April 21, 2021 to American Samoa. Feel like you didn't order? Cancel before Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at (and they provide a URL to click)."
I got the same text scam today! The same mistake of "order will be shipped on MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, April 21, 2021" but instead of American Samoa it's Burundi!
