Online scammers are asking potential victims to call 08-9468-9796, a fake Amazon customer helpline, by sending them fake order confirmation text messages like the one below. The fake text messages claim the recipients purchased a Canon EOS R6 Camera, Lenovo Intel core i9 Touch Laptop, and other electronic products from Amazon.

The aim of the scammers is to frighten their potential victims into calling them at +61-08 9468 9796, a fake Amazon customer service helpline. If the scammers are contacted, they will attempt to trick their potential victims into giving them their account credentials, personal and financial information. If the requested information is given to the scammers, it will be used fraudulently.

Got the same text today (Adelaide).
Received a text yesterday saying that I had authorised a purchase for a Canon EOS R6 Camera. Called the phone number and heard an American voice recording asking me to stay on the line. Hung up. It's a scam.
