The fake text message is a scam being sent by cybercriminals to trick recipients into clicking the link in it, which goes to a phishing website that steals account credentials, personal and financial information. The phishing website, which made to look like PayPal's website, will attempt to trick into visitors into signing in and will ask them to submit their personal and financial information, but any attempt to do so, will send the requested information to the cybercriminals behind the phishing website.
