805-873-8799 PNC Bank Scam Text Message or Call - 8058738799

Scammers are sending scam texts from 805-873-8799 or asking potential victims to call the fake PNC Bank customer service telephone number. Therefore, recipients of text messages from 8058738799 or those who are asked to call the same telephone number, are asked to delete the text messages.

The aim of the PNC Bank scam text is to trick potential victims into calling the scammers behind it. If contacted, the scammers will pretend to be PNC customer service and attempt to trick the potential victims into disclosing their account credentials, personal, and financial information, which they will use fraudulently.

If you were tricked into disclosing your account credentials and finanical information to the scammers, please contact PNC Bank for help. Their legitimate customer service telephone number is: 1 (412) 803-7711 or you can go to PNC's website at www.pnc.com/en/customer-service.html for contact details.

    I just received the text from this number. It says, "Did you attempt $34.12 -Call 18058738799-Exxon Mobil?) to approve or decline."

    If you call this number (18058738799), the automated message will ask you to put your social security number. So I hung up.

    And I call PNC Bank -Credit Card to report this phishing/Freud/Scam.

    I got this today (April 2):

    "([PNC] You have one trasaction in pending 8058738799 - ID6395) Reacu us to approve/decline"

    I had just finished paying some bills online and did use my PNC account, so getting this 5 minutes later seemed legit. Except that the language of the text seemed odd, AND as soon as I called the recording asked me to enter my social security number! So I hung up.

    Thanks to the folks who posted here who saved me from being scammed.

    Here is a text message I received today.

    “([PNC]You have one transaction ON HOLD - Call (805) 8738799 - MSgRef8433 Call today) to approve/decline”

    I called the number, and the automated system asked for my social for verification. I immediately hung up. It’s a scam!

    I’ve deleted the text and blocked the number. Hope this helps anyone that may experience something similar!

    I bought something on line and then got the text message with an anmount very close to what I had just bought asking the accect or decline. I did call the number bad on me...when it asked for my CC number I did hang up, but I had entered my PIN number. I wish I had checked the phone number first.

    I received the above text msg. I’m not a PNC customer which was an immediate red flag. I called out of curiosity and to try and gain information about this fraudulent attempt. I was asked to enter my social security number only. Banks never ask for your full social and I’d never give it out that freely anyway. I then Googled the number and came to this website. Sharing this info in hopes to help others.
