Google Business Listing Scam Call

A Google Business listing scam call is a scam that impersonates a business listing verification from Google's verification department. The scam's goal is to get users' personal information.

Here are some signs of a Google Business listing scam call:

  • The caller claims to be from a "Google-authorized company"
  • The caller claims your business listing "needs to be verified," "has been flagged for review," or "may be suspended"
  • The caller promises to help you for a fee
  • The caller's name changes, but the message is similar

Google does not make unsolicited sales calls from an automated system. Google will only call business owners at your request via business.google.com. These calls won't be recorded "robocalls" and won't try to sell you anything.

Here are some ways to stop Google from calling your business:

  • Report robocalls and fake Google calls to the FTC
  • Block the numbers or use blocking apps
  • Add your mobile number to the Do Not Call Registry
  • Report fraudulent activity to Google

  • Ask the caller to verify their identity
  • Google never asks for personal information
