I have received two of these texts, and I am not a Verizon customer. One came today (12/26/2021) from (312) 206-9901 and the first came on 12/20/2021 from (628) 286-5744. The texts were as given above.

I just received a text from 802-522-5848 stating,

Seemed sus, glad I checked!

I got it 11 minutes after I talked with a Verizon rep about a discount on the account for now, and she also promised a whole year of 50% — this part was legit, I called Verizon, and had had the same discount several times on a business account. And 11 mins after we hang up, this:

"VZN Free Msg: November bill is paid. Thanks, Here's a little gift for you: epaj29:xyz/QLg5uf×i4j"

Imagine yourself, how likely it would have been that you clicked. My guard was almost completely down; if they would have used a link like one I saw in the comments starting with "vzwr", I think I got to admit I would have succumb to it. Thankfully the link was suspicious enough with the "xyz" high-level domain so I first looked at the account, and saw it unpaid, and never clicked. I first thought it was a Pegasus hacking attempt, and someone or someones already had a certain level access to my phone or my phone calls and heard the convo with the Verizon rep, and they chose this message because they thought I would eat it. Good to see that this message is not completely tailored and unique on the Internet.

Also, to top it off: I *actually* got a gift card today of $75 from a lady I reported that her car was hit'n' run in, and it's Christmas Day so I REALLY could have imagined that Verizon was going to gift something minimal. I can't believe I didn't click this one.

Just got the "VZN Free Msg" text, 12/25, from 909-641-3178. Did not click on the link.

12/19/2021: Received scam 480-601-7100 saying "your most recent bill has been paid, please accept our special seasonal rebate of $200 from VZ! stempersonal.com/p7a4no5"

12/8/2021: Received this scam from 913-343-0025 saying my "recent bill has been paid, please accept our special seasonal rebate of $200 from VZ!" I was supposed to click on the link at "thusripple.com/SfnuTGT". It's always something with these scammers. Wish they would use that energy for a legitimate cause.

Keep getting texts from different numbers 929-585-1094 , 716-399-2806 are two of them; "Your latest bill is paid. Thanks, (first name). Here's a little gift for you. Click m2scv.xyz/VFKpOanN0p or similar message. I don't have VZN so they are SOL.
