SLA Servicing Student Loan Forgiveness Scam Calls

Got a call from this number and they left a voicemail saying, "Hi, this is Shae Bostick with SLA servicing. If you could give me a call back when you receive this message at (855)6771095. I'm calling regarding your student loans. We are in the process of pre enrollment for all loan forgiveness files and possible loan discharge files. It's gonna be a bit more challenging as deadlines come to complete that process and we don't want anyones status to change, especially for those programs. Please call me when you have a few minutes to review the details. Again my phone number is 8556771095. Thank you. I hope to hear from you soon!" Directly following that a robotic phone operator voice said, "to opt out of future calls please call (202) 908 3064."
I don't have, nor have I ever had, student lones. Ignore/block these numbers. Don't "call to opt out" if they offered you that option as well.

Got the same voicemail! Same Mendez person from SLA servicing calling from a number in Florida. I’m Canadian so thought it was weird a loan forgiveness program from the USA would contact me? Definite scam. Blocked all the numbers: 855-958-0788, 202-908-3064, and 727-387-4862.

Got a call from SLA student loan servicing, from a Haley Mendez, asked me to call 855-958-0799, however call originated from 585-539-7106. Called back and got a voice mail for Student Loan Servicing, opted to be placed on "do not call list". We'll see if this works.

I've been getting phone calls from the same name, same voice for the past week. So glad I looked up the numbers and found this thread. Numbers were 855-765-2002, 925-500-1682, 209-254-7053, and 864-642-3259. Total scam, BLOCK, AND IGNORE.

Same message as the others above. But me and my wife have no student loans, so defiantly a scam. Didn't call back either the main number or the "opt out" number that is probably also a scam.

Same call today, with similar speech as others have gotten. I do have student loans and am already enrolled in a loan forgiveness program so it sounded almost legit. Figured I’d check just in case and glad I did.

Same. And I have never had a student loan! The name sounded like Kaylee Mendez. (855) 765-2007 is the number she gave for callback, but the initial voicemail came from (240) 657-1112. She gave the business name as "SLA Servicing." Beware!

SCAM! Like all the other comments, I have a Kaylee Mendez reaching out from SLA Servicing trying to get me to enroll for loan forgiveness. Jokes on her, loans been paid off years ago! WATCH OUT FOR THESE SCAMMERS! The call didn't show up with a number but she told me to call her back at 855-765-2007. DO NOT GIVE HER ANY INFO.

Yep Hailey Mendez called me too! She was calling from her other line though, 334-869-7441 and having me call 855-765-2007, 7 instead of 2, so her 4th line she has LOL

I got a call today from (707) 848-9536. I got a voice message got from Hailey Mendez about forgiving my student loans. I not even in school. SCAM

I received a phone call from Kaylee at SLA servicing (475)-310-3001 told me to call (855) 765-2002. when I called back a different person answered and was trying to rush me through if I wanted to be enrolled in the loan forgiveness plan. He was saying all kinds of statements like how some qualify others don't and IBR plans are available. When I asked what was the difference between SLA and my current servicer he gave a generic response. I asked for their website and he stated studentloanservicers.org it does not exist. Once he heard me typing that in he hung up!

THIS IS A SCAM!! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!

ASK AS MANY QUESTIONS AS YOU CAN THINK OF IF THEY ARE LEGIT THEY WILL STAY ON THE PHONE WITH YOU AND GIVE YOU TRUE DETAILS THAT YOU CAN VERIFY.

I also got a call from Hailey Mendez about forgiving my student loans from No Caller ID to 256-918-2039, but told me to call her back at 855-765-2002.
SCAM

Received a call from 858-251-8111, said it was Haley Mendez with SLA Servicing, said she was calling regarding student loans and the pre-enrollment for all loan forgiveness or loan discharge. It will be more challenging as deadlines approach and we don't want anyone's status to change especially for these programs. She asked for a call back 855-756-2002. A message came on at end that said to opt out call 202-908-3064.

I have never had student loans and did not respond.

Called me with the same info. I am 67 years old and don't have any student loans.

Received a call from 334-725-7023, said it was Hailey Mendez with SLA Servicing, said she was calling regarding student loans and the pre-enrollment for loan forgiveness or loan discharge. They would be busier soon, so now would be a good time to call and go over the information. the 1st time she gave a call back # she said 855-765-2002, she said it again at end of message 855-756-2002 (a couple of numbers switched. My son has student loans, but she never mentioned any name of loan holder or any other information that would help verify or identify this might be legit. I'm very suspicious.

My granddaughter just recv'd one as well from same person she forwarded to me. I caught on almost immediately Haley gave two numbers. 855-765-2002 and then 855-756-2002. She transposed the middle three digits.

Ahh great catch!! I just looked back at my voicemail and yep, the middle three are not in the same order.

Got a call from Haley Menendes with the same exact message, but the call back number was 855-788-2295. I do have student loans, but I'm skeptical about everyone now in days. She almost sounds legit. So glad I went with my first mind and checked, even though I wouldn't have called her back anyway.

Yeah this is the exact one I received! Thank goodness I’m very skeptical about any random phone calls these days. That’s why I decided to Google the name of the company before I called anyone! And I’m glad I did!!! I do have outstanding loans that I wish could be forgiven but definitely not like this! Thank you to everyone that has posted on this. You are all lifesavers!!

THen a more automated voice comes on and says " to opt out of future calls please call 202-908-3064" Haley does sound really nice and the call does sound legit compared to other scam calls. But I have never had a student loan so figured it was totally bogus.

Yes, just got the same call. Rang once and then said "call ended", but still got a 46 min voicemail with the same script as above, including the "um". Sounded legit, which is why I Googled. Thanks!

Same exact scam call

I also received the same call but from different #'s than the others. I usually just delete these things right away with no further thought, but this lady sounded really nice and legit on the voicemail which made me second guess. Thankfully my student loans have been paid off for years, but this makes me worried for younger people who do have outstanding loans. Ridiculous!

I came searching because I got a similar call today as well, crazy that it happened to both of us on the same day. I do have active student loans, so missing out on some forgiveness is top tier bait on their part. I'm glad I'm skeptical of any interaction nowadays. I hope others who got this call were as discerning.

I'm so glad I have the wherewithal to research things before I respond. It's a crying shame that we have to do this NOW, but it is the age we live in where seedy people are lurking about seeking to "kill, steal, & destroy". Here is the VM I received today, 2/2/2022:

I got the same call from the same person, but she shared a different number. Not sure if it was a recording but Kaylee said "um" in the same places in her sentences as you shared here. Weird!

The message I received was identical to the one above but was from a 240-363-0170 in Kensington, MD number. My students loans were paid off a long time ago... I did not call back.

I also got the same call but with different numbers-although the opt-out number was the same. I currently do have student loans but since I am still in school, I don’t owe anything yet since payments aren’t set to start until 6 months after I graduate.

I did not call back.

This is the same call I got. The “call back” numbers seem to all be different, but the number to call to opt out is the same regardless of the caller name/number. That’s probably where the real scam lies - they’re banking on frustrated people calling the 202 number.

I got the same call today, I couldn't' find this loan servicing company online nor have I ever been in contact with them about my loans.

I got the same exact call today. It must be an auto recording of some sort. I didn't call back, but I may try to report them to Federal Student Aid.
