I received a text supposedly from 844-994-4552, which appears to be a Bank of America customer service telephone number. The fake text claims suspicious activities were detected on my account and asked if I authorized a charge for $340.94 from Costco in Fort Worth TX on 03/10/2023 at 09:37 pm. After a few minutes, I received another scam text asking me if I authorized a charge in March for $470.19.
The fake text messages are phishing scams being sent by scammers attempting to trick their potential victims into contacting them. If they are contacted, they will try to trick potential victims into disclosing their account credentials, personal and financial information, which they will use fraudulently.
If you have received similar Bank of America text scam messages, please do not follow their instructions. Instead, call Bank of America using the telephone number on the back of your card or go to their website at bankofamerica.com for the contact information.

I received one of these texts just 5 minutes ago but weird it said Wells Fargo as the person/ company sending it, which is weird since that is who I bank through. I didn’t respond but thought it was weird that it shows up my financial institution.
Just got a scam text from the same number, claiming to be Wells Fargo
