Online Threat Alerts (OTA) - Alerting you to scams and frauds.
The MacAfee scam email invoice below is just one of the many being sent by scammers to trick potential victims into contacting them. The fake invoice claims the recipients' subscription will be renewed automatically unless they turn it off in 24 hours. It then gives them a fake MacAfee customer service telephone number to call. The telephone number is actually linked to a call center operated by scammers.
If you contacted, the scammers will attempt to trick their potential victims into disclosing their account credentials, personal and financial information. The stolen information will then be used fraudulently by the scammers. Therefore, if you have been tricked into disclosing your credit card information, please contact your bank for help.
