A $700 credit appeared on my Spectrum account. None of my credit cards were breached & my bank account was not charged.Spectrum is investigating & will supposedly be contacting me in 3 days. They could not tell me how the payment was received. It's all a little strange! All credit unions have been notified,my bank account numbers changed & there have not been any credit inquiries or credit cards opened. Just sitting in limbo until Spectrum finishes It's investigation.an anonymous userhttps://www.onlinethreatalerts.com/users/#an-anonymous-userOct 2, 2023 by Spectrum 50% Discount Scam Callan anonymous user from: Chicago, Illinois, United StatesJust received a call from a person who said he was representing Spectrum. He was offering me a 50% reduction of my account for three years if I sent two Target gift cards totaling $630 to a number with a security code. After the call ended, I called Spectrum and asked about this promotion. I was told by an exasperated woman that they had received many, many calls about this issue. She told me it was a scam. The guy had my phone number and account information. The woman said they had a team looking into it. Beware!an anonymous userhttps://www.onlinethreatalerts.com/users/#an-anonymous-userOct 2, 2023 by Spectrum 50% Discount Scam Callan anonymous user from: New York, New York, United StatesTo everyone that has Spectrum Service. There's a new scam going around. I received a call today, supposedly from Spectrum, claiming that as a valued customer and senior citizen that they are offering to discount my bill for half price, for the next three years if I pay for 5 months in advance. They go on talking about my account being paid in full, etc. They even gave me a phone number to call to verify that they are Spectrum. Of course "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". I called Spectrum (not the number they gave me) and was told that they are getting flooded with a lot of calls pertaining to this exact scam. Please don't give any of your Spectrum information to these scammers. And certainly don't provide your banking info, or credit card number.an anonymous userhttps://www.onlinethreatalerts.com/users/#an-anonymous-userOct 2, 2023 by Spectrum 50% Discount Scam Callan anonymous user from: Atlanta, Georgia, United StatesRecently I got a phone call from Spectrum saying I got 50% off discount and I had to call between 9:00 and 5:00 Pacific time to confirm it. Also, they are open for calls 24 hours. If tou get a call about this, please don't open or interact with them!an anonymous userhttps://www.onlinethreatalerts.com/users/#an-anonymous-userOct 2, 2023 by Spectrum 50% Discount Scam Callan anonymous user from: Atlanta, Georgia, United StatesI got 2 scam calls today that someone could easily fall for.1st call stated that I qualified for a 50% discount on my Spectrum bill for 3 years. The catch was that I'd have to pay for the first 9 months in advance. There is no such discount. The next call was supposedly from Eversource stating that my account was past due and scheduled to be disconnected. I have my bill sent directly to my bank and paid automatically. So they failed twice today with me. I hate to think of how many people got ripped off by these guys. — feeling angry.
