Beware of "Mail Box Validation to Avoid Email Shut Down Webmail Alert Service" Scam

The email message below with the subject: "Mail Box Validation for, to Avoid Email Shut Down," which appears as a webmail alert service, claiming the recipients' accounts will be shutdown if they fail to validate and upgrade their email accounts, is a phishing scam created by cybercriminals to steal the recipients' email account usernames and passwords. So, recipients of the fake email message should not follow the instructions in it, because they run the risk of having their accounts hijacked by the cyber-criminals behind the scam.

The link in the email message goes to a phishing website, which will steal the recipients' email account usernames and passwords, if they attempt to sign into the same website.

Recipients of the fake email message who were tricked into clicking on the link in it and entering their usernames and passwords on the phishing website that they were taken to, should change their email account passwords immediately
