Online users who have received email messages like the one below, which claim that their mailboxes will be blocked from receiving email messages due to a high spam report, should delete the same email messages. This is because the email messages are phishing scams being sent by cyber criminals to their potential victims, in an attempt to trick them into visiting phishing websites that steal email account credentials. This is why online users should never click on a link to sign into their accounts. They should go directly to their email providers' website and sign in from there or use a mobile app.

Online users who have already been tricked by the phishing scam are asked to change their email account passwords before the cybercriminals behind the phishing scam gain access to their account, hijack and use them fraudulently. The same online users should change the passwords for their other online accounts.
