1-844-944-1999 is a Fake Technical Support Number - Do Not Call it

Just received a pop-up message asking me to call a 1-844-944-1999 telephone number. Unfortunately, we did call back the number, but no sensitive information was given. Below is the information from the scammers who were attempting to trick us into giving them our credit card information.

This is their information:

  • Technician name: Alex Petersen
  • Microsoft Service Centre
  • Toll free number: 1-866-665-9555

The 1-844-944-1999 telephone number does not belong to Microsoft.

After I realized it was a scam, they called me back from 1-866-665-9555, but I never gave them my number.

Technician hung up on me once I refused to "check" my bank accounts on my desktop for fraud transactions.
