Do not call telephone number 9097688411 because people are receiving fake AT&T "Unauthorized payment" text messages like the one below asking them to call the same number. The fake messages are being sent by scammers who are attempting to steal their potential victims' money, financial, and personal information. Therefore, recipients are asked to delete the messages.

Received the same scam text message today
Thanks for posting this scam warning on your site.I received a text message from AT&T SUBJ Unsuccessful payment. Call 9097688411 MSG 1014I checked my account, and AT&T received their monthly payment on July 26, 2020.
Yep, got the same c**p today, mine read:FRM: AT&TSUBJ:Unsuccessful payment.Call 9097688411MSG:6673I checked my bills, and the last one was paid in July and the next is not due until end of August - with timing off, I was suspicious.Thanks for this website for the warning
I received the same type of message just now. It seemed fishy because if I ever miss any payments, ATT will usually give me a "Payment unsuccessful, please log in to your pre-paid acct" message. All it said was the following:FRM: AT&TSUBJ: Unsuccessful paymentCall 9097688411MSG: 2651
My account is set up for auto pay. Knew it had to be false

Got the same message about an unsuccessful payment and to call 9097688411. The only difference was the MSG number. Definitely a scam as I telephoned AT&T and they indicated they didn't send the message.

Was going to call just to mess around with scammers (which I do when I have a bit of time), but dang, the automated system wants a debit card number and I tried 1,2,3,4,5... which didn't work.
Received same scam SMS this morning. Always call the official phone number or go to the official website directly, rather than clicking on a possible scam link.

Received this text at 6:15 am this morning. Displayed phone number different than number they asked me to call.
Got this message at 3:23 a.m. and knew it was fake. P****d that it woke me up!
Got the same text message, 03:40 am PDT, checked to see if AT&T current payment had gone through but it hadn't yet, so I called the number 9097688411. Computerized female voice started, "Your debit card has been frozen ...". Hung up. Don't have a debit card and recognized the scam chick voice. Definite scam.
Rec'd same message as above today 8/2/20 at 7:44 pm, my acct is current so I knew it was a scam.
My cell phone payment went through last week and today I receive a text message saying my payment didn't go through. I did call and I knew right away it was a fake. I didn't give them any information and didn't click on any buttons like they asked. Tex said ATT Unsuccessful payment call 909-768-8411.

Received the message, but know my account is current w/ AT&T. Also, my payment due date isn't today. Googled the # they wanted you to call & saw this page w/ all the spam reports. So add my report to the list. Might stop by an ATT store tomorrow to give them the spam #. They may or may not care, but perhaps they have a way to alert ATT to check it out & try to shut down these spammers.

Got this scam text when I do not have any contract with AT&T.
I got this text message too. AT & T should be responsible for any damages since the scammers obviously know that I recently signed up for AutoPay. I got the text message on the scheduled payment date. That would make for an astronomical coincidence. I just think the scammers have access to payment information. I checked my ATT account and everything was fine.
The scammers are sending this randomly, a lot of people who received it don’t even have ATT
I also have autopay and received the msg today BUT the payment is scheduled for the 9th. I think it’s just coincidence since they sent to everyone on the same day

Received text early this morning with above mentioned number to call for payment. This is a Scam!
Just received the same obviously phony text message.
My husband received a text this morning from the above mentioned phone number saying that they were unable to process our payment. Thank goodness my husband always gives these message to me to check.
got ‘unsuccessful payment’ text message & asked my best friend about it and he directed me to this page. THANK YOU ALL FOR KEEPING IN TIP IF THESE SCAMS! it pusses me off that there are awful, evil people out there trying to steal from us/rip us off/ruin our lives by stealing our identifies!

No, you are not in danger. If the number is called, the scammers will attempt to trick the callers into disclosing their personal and financial information.
