Is Super Cash Giveaway a Scam?

Today I received a check for $5,975.15 to cover insurance and attorney fees for being the second-place winner in the 100 Million Dollars Super Cash Giveaway. It says I am to contact claims manager tel # 1-2899528709 and gives a security code. It says I am to keep this confidential. Is this fake or legitimate?

It is a scam. The scammers will ask you to cash the check and send them the difference. But, if the check is cashed, the bank will in a few days determine it is a fake, and you will be responsible for paying back the possible.
