Scammers are calling potential victims asking them to call 540-595-0946 because their Social Security Number(SSN) has been used fraudulently. The scammers use legal action, arrest, and other threats in an attempt to trick their potential victims into calling them at 5405950946.

If you receive a threatening phone call claiming that there‘s an issue with your Social Security number or benefits, it’s a scam. The Social Security Administration (SSA) will never threaten you with arrest or other legal action if you don’t immediately pay a fine or fee.
Social Security may call you in some situations but will never:
- Threaten you.
- Suspend your Social Security number.
- Demand an immediate payment from you.
- Require payment by cash, gift card, pre-paid debit card, or wire transfer.
- Ask for gift card numbers over the phone or to wire or mail cash.
The real SSA will never call to threaten your benefits or tell you to wire money, send cash, or put money on gift cards. And, you can’t believe the numbers on your caller ID because scammers can easily fake those. But if you’re worried, call the real SSA at 1-800-772-1213. You can trust that number if you dial it yourself – just not on your caller ID.
Also, never give your SSN, credit card or bank account number to anyone who contacts you. Ever.
