The Tollway text scam, which claims the recipients have a toll trip marked as unpaid due to E-tag scanning failing, is being sent by scammers attempting to trick potential victims into clicking the link in it. The link goes to a phishing website that steals account credentials, personal and financial information.
-TOLLWAY-EAST-: You have an toll trip marked as UNPAID due to E-tag scanning failed. Please pay manually to avoid penalty notice. tollwayeast-traffic .net
Recipients of the Tollway scam text are asked not to click the link in it. They should just delete it. Recipients who have already been tricked by the scam text and who have submitted their financial information to the phishing website they were taken to, are asked to contact their bank for help.

I’ve been receiving sms msgs claiming a trip marked as unpaid of $5.28 due to etag scanning failure.I have an account and it doesn’t say any unpaid trips. I’ve looked up the invoice number and it’s an invalid number.A txt 2 mins ago claimed that if I don’t pay within we’ll tmrw…I’ll be fined $500…Yea tad bit of a jump lmao.
