The phishing website purports to be the UK Post Office and claims a package needs to be redelivered. It then requests a fee of £1.45 for the re-delivery and requests your credit card details and security code. But, if the requested information is sent, it will be used fraudulently.

The Local Depot GB Scam Text

"Your parcel is waiting for delivery, please confirm the settlement of £1.45 on the following link local-depot-gb.com"

If you have been tricked by the Local Depot GB Co UK scam and have submitted your credit card information, please contact your bank for help.

Poor Simon has been trying for about 3 months to deliver my imaginary parcel. No-one answers the door when he's been despite me working at home and that my dog would have barked like crazy. If these people put half as much effort into finding a proper job rather than scamming folks that are struggling as it is then the world would be a much better place. Absolute a*******s.

Just had this happen to me today, was expecting a package and gave my name, address, email, date of birth and phone number before stopping myself going further. Really worried now about what will happen with that information they've been given though, has anyone else gave information and anything happen to them?

Just had a text from local depot 23 .com saying failed delivery. Strange thing is I was waiting for a delivery in the exact same time slot. Very coincidental. I clicked on the link as a result but nothing happened (wouldn’t have given details anyway). Phoned the co I was waiting for snd they said they hadn’t been yet. Ally

received a text from 447845010373 purporting to be NHS contact and trace and to order a test kit from nhs.local-depot-help.com. The NHS stopped contact and trace last year!!
Googled the address and ended up on this site. Welcome to another scam.

We got scammed out of our entire bank account last night. We received the text and my husband completed the form but then thought better of it and cancelled his card. A few days later they rang saying they were the bank calling to stop fraud on our account, make a new one, move the money there to keep it save. Very convincing. But the phone number is one digit different from the bank’s number.
Now we are waiting to see if we can get our £3000 back.
Various links/versions of this- they tried again this morning to get my savings. Beware!! If anyone calls you just find the official number and ring back if you are not sure.

1) Real postmen leave an A5 card with instructions on how to schedule redelivery

2) Your postman doesn’t have your mobile number 😂

3) Wouldn’t message you in the middle of the night

4) Royal Mail definitely not advanced enough to have separate website names for each depot (“depot 25”)

5) If your parcel had been returned to depot 25, why would you need to enter your address to find out which depot is your local one?

6)I know my postman & he’s Paul not Jamie

TOTALLY OBVIOUS SCAM!

The problem I had was there is a parcel due today, I got to the part where it asked me to pay for redelivery and I was like hmmm bit suspect that, I think it was just coincidence that scammers text me on the same day. I’ll find out when I get home they should of left a card if it’s legit but I did leave instructions on where to leave the parcel. Also I gave the scammers a fake d.o.b as it said they needed my D.O.B to check I’m over 18 so I just made sure it was over 18 as I felt un easy giving any info about myself as these dodgy messages go around a lot and I’m glad I did now. The only thing they do have is my name and address and work number but I don’t think they can do much with that other than ring me up pretending to be someone which I won’t fall for anyway

He’s been busy in Blackburn, Lancashire today. I’ve had loads of parcels the last few days, and been out most of today too. So the text was not out the ordinary. I stupidly went through to payments, then the penny dropped. I didn’t add my bank details but then googled it. My husband has called me a b****y numpty as it’s Sunday so why would they deliver today! 🤨

by an anonymous user from: Sheffield, England, United Kingdom

Simon sent me a text in the middle of the night, claiming to have tried to deliver a parcel, and saying no-one was in!

I was suspicious, so I Googled his link on another device and a Royal Mail website appeared. When I was asked for a £1.20 Redelivery fee, and asked to provide my card details, I realized it was definitely a scam, and of course did not do any such thing.

I have reported it via the legitimate Royal Mail website as a scam.

Very unimaginative of them to use Simple 'Simon' all the time. He must be a very busy fellow.

Harrow area.
