Scammers are sending the "Mum I Smashed My Phone" scam text messages below to potential victims. Therefore, recipients are asked not to follow the instructions or respond to the messages. They should instead, call their child's phone to see if he/she answers.

"hey mum, I’ve smashed my phone and I’m using a spare. Can you message me on WhatsApp when you get this"
The aim of the scam is to trick parents into believing their children's phone has been damaged and they need money to repair it. The scammers will then instruct the concerned parents into sending money to their bank account.
