Is Borden Costa & Associates LLP a Scam or Legit Canada Legal Firm?
Is Borden Costa and Associates LLP a Scam or Legit Canada Legal Firm?

I want to know if Borden Costa & Associates LLP & Associates located at bordcostassollp.com is a legit law firm or a scam. Their website address or domain name was registered only 25 days ago and the photos of their attorneys are stock photos used by many other websites. With so many fake law firm websites popping up online in Canada, it is hard to know who to trust. Even the photo of Gilbert Peter Costa, the lead attorney, is a stock photo. If you do not believe me, go to their website and do a Google Image search of the photos of their attorneys and you will see that they are not real attorneys, but just stock photos up for use by anyone.

They are a scam. Received the same 10 million dollar letter about a relative passing without a will who happened to be a client of them. Asked to send money to make the transfer to the USA.

They sent me documents from; Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Red Deer Court House, Order Probate, Sun Life Financial records, Toronto Court House, Canada Trust Transfer Funds Form, and even a accident report. All fake.

I was curious about the letter I received so I researched the names involved. The "client" that died in an accident had the same name as mine. Upon further searching in a local
newspaper I found that a person with the same last name was getting married and his
address was the same as the Attorney's office that Gilbert Peter Costa was supposedly the
partner at Borden Costa. There is a Jayson Peter Costa that has just been arrested in
Bakersfield Calif on a real estate scam, along with some others.

I also got the letter about a next of kin dieing 8 years ago with no will. So far I’m playing along because I’ve yet to be asked for any money. I’m so curious as to how the scam plays out. Thy must ask for money or some information along the way.

My parents received the same letter last week. They say the relative who had a 10 million estate died in a car accident 8 years ago. When I looked up his obituary, he actually died in 2008 with his daughter by his side.

I got the same letter with a follow up email. I see several red flags in both the text and the substance. Interested to see what they do now cuz I'm willing to play. I hate bottom feeders!

I received the same letter. It's a scam! I contacted the Law Society of Ontario Canada and they have no record of an attorney named Gilbert Peter Costa. They told me to ask him for his licensee member number to the Law Society of Ontario and his telephone number. I did so via email and haven't had a response. No surprise there! The Law Society of Ontario's toll free number is 1-800-668-7380.I now intend to contact the FBI.

Borden Costa law firm doesn’t exist. The website is flashy, but as you dig past the first couple of pages you’ll realize it’s all fluff and no substance. Also, the amount of grammatical errors and misspellings throughout the website should be enough to alert all but the most illiterate.
