Virus Alert - LogMeIn Account Notification - Customer Invoice

The email message below: "LogMeIn Account Notification - Customer Invoice #896502," has a link to a virus or Trojan horse that will infect your Windows computer, if you download and open it. The message is a fake and was not by sent by LogMeIn. It was instead, designed and sent by cyber-criminals to trick the recipients into clicking on the link, downloading and opening the malicious file: lgm_payment_invoice.zip, disguised a payment receipt.

Due Date : Tuesday , July 1st 2014
LogMeIn account : ???
Invoice Item : LogMeIn Pro Yearly subscription

You can log in to your LogMeIn account to pay the invoice.

The file “lgm_payment_invoice.zip” is not a payment receipt or invoice, but a file that that contains the malicious file or virus “lgm_payment_invoice.pif".

All the links in the email message will go to the malicious website below and attempt to download the malicious file - lgm_payment_invoice.zip:

Do not open files ending with “.zip” or “.rar”, unless you are expecting these files from someone. Cybercriminals are compressing or adding their viruses to archive files such as Zip (“.zip”) or WinRAR( “.rar”) to make them undetectable or able to bypass your email provider’s virus scanners.

If you open this malicious file, your computer will get infected with a Trojan horse, which the cybercriminals behind this message will be able to use to access and take control of your computer remotely from anywhere around the world. They may spy on you, use your computer to commit cybercrimes, or steal your personal and financial information.
