This is because the messages are fakes being sent by lottery scammers who are attempting to trick their potential victims into sending them their personal information, which they will keep and sell to other scammers. The scammers will then ask their potential victims to send money in order to receive their so-called prize. If the money is sent, the lottery scammers will take the money and disappear, leaving the victims without the prize that they were promised. Some of the scammers may even contact their victims again and attempt to trick them again into sending more money.
