Recipient of the fake "Identity Theft Settlement" email below are asked not to follow the instructions in it. The fake email is being sent by online scammers who are attempting to trick potential victims into sending them money. Once you are contacted unexpectedly and asked to send money in order to receive money, it is a scam.

We regret to inform you that your identity has been compromised in an identity theft scheme recently uncovered

in Switzerland by federal authorities.

Your more personal details have been undisclosed in this email for your own security as your email might have

been compromised as well. Your information was exposed during the Facebook system breach of September

2018 were millions of user accounts were affected worldwide. The offenders have since been prosecuted, tried

and ordered monetary settlement to victims involved willingly through wire fraud and romance or other scams or

unwillingly through identity theft and hacking. This means victims that had direct contact with the offenders by

telephone or email and those who are unaware of the incident prior to this notification.

This notice is a summary. For case details, terms and conditions of the settlement please see the official

settlement notification report. You may obtain a copy of this report by contacting the office of the Clerk of the

Court for the Strafgericht des Kantons Basel-Stadt by return email, or by visiting in person at

Schützenmattstrasse 20, 4009 Basel, Switzerland between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday,

excluding Court holidays.

We've tried to contact you several times through the court e-notification system, but received no response, hence

my trying to reach you via private email, hope you receive notification this time and confirm receipt in order to

stop further attempts. Our phone lines are extremely busy during this period as we are receiving a lot of claim

settlement calls, so contact via email will get you the quickest response.
